Privacy Policy

This policy applies only to the Stella Slack app and integration. For the Stella iOS / mobile app, see the main Privacy Policy.

StellaLabs, LLC ("StellaLabs," "we," "us," or "our") provides the Stella for Slack app (the "Slack App"), which lets users interact with Stella inside Slack via direct messages, slash commands, and other Slack surfaces. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Slack App collects, how it is used, and your choices.

1. What Data the Slack App Collects

When you install or use Stella in Slack, the Slack App may collect:

• User identification data. Slack user ID, workspace ID, display name, timezone, and basic workspace configuration (such as installation date and subscription status).
• Conversation data. Direct messages and slash command inputs sent to Stella, check-in responses, and (where Slack voice features are supported) voice recordings or transcripts of voice interactions with Stella.
• Usage analytics. Session frequency, features used, and response interactions, used to improve the Slack App.

What the Slack App does NOT collect:

• Messages in channels where Stella is not present,
• Messages between other users that do not involve Stella,
• Files, unless they are explicitly shared with Stella, and
• Screen activity or any data outside the Slack workspace surfaces where Stella is invoked.

2. How Slack Data Is Used

• AI processing. Your messages and prompts are sent to Anthropic (Claude), the third-party AI provider used by the Stella Slack App, to generate personalized responses. Anthropic does not train its models on customer data sent via the API; API requests may be retained by Anthropic for a limited period for abuse monitoring and then deleted, as described in Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• Pattern tracking. Conversation history may be analyzed to identify trends and provide insights inside Stella's Slack Home Tab.
• Service improvement. Aggregated, anonymized usage data may be used to improve the Slack App's features and reliability.

3. Data Retention

While you are an active subscriber:

• Conversation history is retained to provide continuity across sessions.
• Voice recordings are transcribed to text; original audio is deleted within 30 days.
• Usage analytics are retained for up to 24 months.

After cancellation or uninstall:

• Data is retained for 30 days in case you reactivate.
• After 30 days, conversation history is permanently deleted from active systems.
• If you request immediate deletion, we comply within a reasonable period (typically 48 hours).

4. How to Delete Your Slack Data

Option 1: Type /stella delete-data in Slack to request permanent deletion.

Option 2: Email legal@stellalabs.ai with the subject "Delete My Slack Data" and include your workspace name.

Option 3: Uninstall the Slack App from your workspace. Uninstalling revokes the App's access; we will delete associated data on the schedule above.

5. Service Providers

• Slack Technologies, LLC — hosts the Slack workspace surfaces through which you interact with Stella.
• Anthropic (Claude) — the AI provider used to generate Stella's responses in Slack.
• Hosting and database providers — store conversation history and configuration on our behalf.

We use encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, and other industry-standard measures to protect Slack App data. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access will never occur.
